The Vanguard reports that an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered the remand of a 45-year-old man, Lawrence Adedapo, in prison for alleged rape of a 75-year-old woman.

Chief Magistrate Simeon Ojo, who gave the order in his ruling, decried the alarming cases of rape in the state.

Ridiculous! The Assam Rape Festival In #India Has Begun This Week

According to the National Report, men in India are already beginning to celebrate as the annual Assam Rape Festival is just days away. Every non-married girl age 7-16 will have the chance to flee to safety or get raped.

Children in Light of Hope Orphanage are being sexually abused by the Director of the Orphanage (who they call 'Pastor,' but at this point, we don't care!) Mr Atunde. Two children from the orphanage reported that Mr Atunde had sexually abused them for more than 3 years. The man was arrested and the children taken out of the orphanage. The case is presently in court, but it seems like nothing is being done. Barely two weeks after Project Alert, an organization advocating against violence against women and girls, took the girls in their shelter, the Ogun State government returned the girls back to the (abusive) shelter on some baseless reasons. Mr Tunde, who sexually abuses these girls in his orphanage has been granted bail (by who?) and is now punishing these girls for speaking out. This sexual abuser walks free, while the Ogun State Government Ministry of Women Affairs is quite about the case. Project Alert has asked us to help with creating more awareness about the case and we implore you to help us in this fight for JUSTICE! #Nigeria: 16YO Girl Raped to a Coma in #Ogun

I'm really sad this happened in my very own state. According to reports from Vanguard News, a 16-year-old girl (name withheld) has been reportedly hospitalised after she was allegedly raped to coma by some unknown men in  Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Vanguard gathered that the incident occurred at 8 p.m. on Monday on her way back home from where she was sent on an errand.

One day at lunch, a group of four young men seated by me were having a discussion about a rape video. They chatted so loudly about it I had no problem tuning my ears for better reception. Any ways, even though they had no knowledge of the perpetrator and victim, they spoke as if they did. All except one agreed that the lady deserved what she got and was to be blamed. The lady represented a case study related to their own experiences.

I listened as they bragged about their rape escapades giving counts of the number of girls they'd raped as proofs. Some were hailed for ‘doing’ more than the others. To them, rape is an act of dominance and gaining control over difficult unwilling girls ––  it's used punish and degrade them.

A 34-year-old commercial driver, Olawale Ojo, living in Oyo state has been arrested by the Oyo Police Command for defiling his neighbour’s two-year-old daughter.

#Nigeria: Two brothers Remanded in Prison for Raping 14YO Girl in #Osun

An Osogbo chief magistrates’ court on Wednesday ordered the remand of two brothers for abducting and raping a 14-year-old girl.

The brothers, Feyisola Olatunji, 25, and Olabode Olatunji, 28, allegedly conspired and committed the offences on October 12, 2013 at about 9.45 p.m. at the Old Governor’s office area in Osogbo.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Mereti, told the court that the accused persons committed the offences by kidnapping their victim and unlawfully had carnal knowledge of her.

A popular spiritualist at Ashaiman, Malam Wahab Seidu, is in the firm grip of the Ashaiman Divisional branch of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Service for allegedly shaving the private parts of a 17-year-old girl and raping her.

Wickedness! HIV Positive Doctor Rapes Admitted Patient in #Benue

I thought medical doctors take an oath before taking on their profession, apparently this one didn't. The wickedness in human beings is just beyond measures. According to todays gist, a medical personnel believed to be a doctor reportedly molested a female patient who was on admission in a hospital where he practices.

According to report, the female patient was brought to the clinic for emergency medical attention and after been placed on drip, recovered partially.

The medical personnel took advantage of the fact that she was semi-conscious and forcefully had sex with her.

The alleged rapist who is a medical practitioner with Tersoo Clinic in Naka town, Gwer West local government area of Benue state has been arrested by the men of the Benue State police command.

According to Vanguard News, an 18-year-old girl, allegedly gang-raped by three boys, has committed suicide at her Amarata residence. It is a suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The deceased, simply identified as Janet, was a native of Oduali in Abua/Odua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

She was reportedly gang-raped at gunpoint by the boys, who forced her into an uncompleted building last week, while she was on an errand for her elder sister.

A source said: “The girl was sad and devastated after the incident. After she narrated her experience, her sister’s husband, who is a pastor, asked her to describe any of her attackers. She described one of them.

“The boy was traced to his house, but he had absconded. The pastor counselled her and promised to pursue the matter to a logical conclusion.”

Didn't hear from him that day. He sends me anoda bbm msg that they went for a function in abuja and he wl cal me when dy get back. 

Manchester Sex Attacks: Police Release Teens Arrested over University Campus

Independent News released the news that two teenagers arrested over a series of "appalling" sex attacks near one of the UK's biggest university campuses have been released.

Police said the pair must return and face questions again yesterday, and have appealed to the public for more information.

The 14-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were arrested in connection with three attacks around Manchester University in September and October.

Police yesterday released an e-fit image of the offender, in an attempt to stop him before the crimes escalate in seriousness.

How to Recover from a Rape/Sexual Assault

When a person is raped or sexually assaulted, his or her world is turned upside down. Not only has he or she been violated in the most intimate way possible, he or she has to heal from the assault. But...how? Society is still afraid to talk openly about a rape or sexual assault; people may not know how to approach the rape victim - afraid to say the wrong thing.

Every person who has been sexually violated responds differently to the crime - some become horribly depressed while others become very angry. All emotions are fair responses to a rape or sexual assault.
