The President Orders for An Investigation of the Case of Pregnant Factory Worker Beaten by Lebanese Boss

The Special Presidential Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati has stated that President Jonathan has taken interest in the case of a (Nigerian) pregnant factory worker, who was beaten by her Lebanese employer. The woman was said to have been (somehow) negligent in her duties (just for one day o!!!) and her boss (not considering her condition) pounced on her with kicks, punches and all other inhumane treatment. This resulted in her losing her 7 months old pregnancy and she is currently in Glorious Mercy Hospital.

Thanks to Doctor Abdulkareem, who treated her without any deposit (a good person biko!) and we also appreciate our president for giving hears to our cry #JusticeforAlice. This decision was contained in the tweets by Dr. R. Abati. See tweet after the cut.

The 'I had sex with her before I could shout ‘blood of Jesus’ Story: What Has Been Done?

Don't crucify me yet, I know it's old news! But errrmmm seriously, this story has been on a low key ever since! I just thought to refresh our minds on the possibility that nothing is being done about this issue -- typical right!

Remember the story of Bishop Chibuike Nwabueze, the Chairman of All Bishops in Rivers State, who was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl and was paraded by the state Police Command. The Bishop claimed hypnosis in his confession – made before newsmen – adding that a colleague in the Lord set him up at the church where the incident occurred.

#Nigeria: The Oba, His Libido and The Law

On October 8, an Osun High Court discharged and acquitted Oba Adebukola Alii, the Alowa of llowa-Ijesa, Osun State, of rape charges.

But the same court lampooned the accused for sexual rascality that brought shame to himself, his family and his kingdom.

The court said the Oba was morally culpable. But by law, he was in the clear: it had insufficient evidence to nail him for rape.

If indeed the law is codified morality, then that “dual” judgment leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

The court lamented the absence, as damning evidence, of stained bed sheets (which the accused would have gleefully surrendered), tom underpants and medical reports confirming forced penetration – and possible bruises – to prove rape.
