Things Not to Say to a Rape Survivor.

Hello guys so we have running sessions on how to help a rape survivor recover (check older posts). Please we are begging you, never use words such as these on a rape survivor (not withstanding the gender). Doing this will open re-open their wounds. Thank you.

"Were you drunk?"


"What were you wearing?"

"Men can't be raped."


"It's your fault."


"Why aren't you getting over this faster?"


"You're wallowing."


"That wasn't rape."


"You were leading him/her on."


"You shouldn't report it - it's only going to make it worse for you."


"You're overreacting."
