Robbers Raid a Student Hostel, Rape a Female Student to Coma

The insecurity issue in Nigeria isn't a new phenomenon, but the act of raping after robbery is just a despicable! I mean, after robbing the girl of her valuable possessions, why rape again?

According to reports, a 17-year-old female student of the University of Calabar, "Anna," was raped to a state of coma by armed robbers who raided the hostel she and several other colleagues are living on Tuesday night in Calabar.

The robbers, according to a fair complexioned male student who gave his name as Ngoli, attacked the hostel located at Mount Zion Road/ Inyang Edem Street at about 2am and raped all the female students and carted away all their laptops and cell phones.

Report from the Punch states that the police in Ogun State on Tuesday arrested an officer of the Ogun State Vigilance Service, Liasu Oyedele, over the alleged rape of a female National Diploma 1 Banking and Finance student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

The 30-year-old VSO officer is currently detained at the Ibara Police Divisional headquarters.

The suspect, according to some MAPOLY students, who staged a peaceful protest to the office of the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Sonubi, was caught after he had already had carnal knowledge of the victim, who was said to be in her menstrual period.

Boy, 14, Rapes Nine-Year-Old Girl to Death

According to The Punch, the police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.

According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.

The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.

He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
