This is not a 'it didn't happen to me, let me mind my business' situation, this is about standing up for other women and saying "NO" to the continuation of this societal disease.<br /><br />Thanks for reading, we appreciate your support! We should be able to stand together and support victims by fighting against the victim blaming, shaming and the myths around rape that only create more unsafe societies.Naijawifehttp://naijahusband.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1945620187044101601.post-24983515830295470792013-12-15T01:33:38.854-05:002013-12-15T01:33:38.854-05:00I'm humbled once again, at the many truths in ...I'm humbled once again, at the many truths in this article. Many people (including women) see rape as other women's issue and choose not to talk about it. I strongly believe that the reason why rape is still as prevalent as it is, is because people still refuse to apportion blame on the rapist, and find ugly ways to blame the survivor. Try reporting a rape case and the police will so dehumanise and violate you all over again. Many things have to be changed before we can finally #endrape. Buh I wonder y will anyone can ever blame someone in such helpless situation for her misfortune...a lot of people really need "educating" what even gets to me is the stigmatization part where even the so called "virgins (although engage in handjob)" and the non-virgins blame rape victims not the rapist... <br />"This article is one contribution towards exploding the silence and the comfortable myths which we build up to convince<br />ourselves we are not potential victims, thus con signing actual victims to the most agonizing isolation a human being can know." thanks for ur beautiful, yet educating and #infosocial write up.BigBshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04052956171778137411noreply@blogger.com
